40th Annual International Conference on Narrative
April 2—5, 2025 | Miami, FL

Sponsorship
Since the 1980s, the International Conference on Narrative has featured presentations on all aspects of narrative in any genre, period, discipline, language, and medium.
Now for the first time, in light of the climate situation and its particular impact on the residents of host city Miami, the conference has a theme: Stories of Climate Transformation.
In this distinctly interdisciplinary iteration of its annual meeting, the Narrative Conference will explore the polyphonic ways in which storytelling can both communicate the urgency of sustainability and celebrate resilience--amidst rising sea levels, weather intensification, and
water insecurity.
This April we’ll welcome 340 presenters, including scholars, faculty, and students from FIU and around the world, renowned authors of fiction and non-fiction, among them keynote speaker Amitav Ghosh, and a panel of international dignitaries organized by the UNESCO Chair of Water Security at FIU's Institute of Environment.
